Giuseppe Conte was confirmed as president of the Five Star Movement with 89.3% of the vote in favor. The announcement was made on the movement's website.
"At 6:00 PM today, October 26, 2025," the statement reads, "voting by members for the election of the president of the Five Star Movement concluded. Of the 101,783 members entitled to vote, 59,720 cast their ballots, equal to 58.67%. To the question: "Are you in favor of electing Giuseppe Conte as president of the Five Star Movement?" 53,353 voted YES. 6,367 voted NO."
"Thank you to the entire Five Star Movement community, thank you all for the support, for the strength and courage you continue to give me every day to face every battle together. We will work even harder to do better. Forward, all together, with our heads held high. Always on the right side!" This is how Conte celebrated his re-election on social media.
Consultations on the Skyvote platform for the renewal of the movement's presidency had opened on Thursday the 23rd. In effect, members could only vote for one name: that of Conte himself. The former Prime Minister is, in fact, the only candidate who managed to obtain at least 500 signatures, as required by the internal rules.
In 2022, Conte was re-elected president with 94.2% of the vote. 55,618 members voted in favor. In 2021, approximately 67,000 out of 115,000 members voted, equal to 58%.
